Undercover Lover

Runnin’ down back streets
A fast get-away

Cuttin’ through the yards
Can’t be seen

Jumpin’ fences on the way
Nothing can stop me

Wanderin’ dark alley
Keeping out of site

Lookin’ away from all
Nobody can know

Unable to speak out
For now the rules are tight
It could be for everything
As there is a missing page
And the butler didn’t do it
So I’ll keep the mystery
With my unseen smile

I’m Not A Believer

Filed at 12:26 am under Memories Of A Present Life... 1978 to 1985 by m3studio

I don’t believe happiness
Only lives in fairy tales

I don’t believe honest
Has been lost in the wind

I don’t believe trust
Always wears two faces

I don’t believe nice guys
Are the last place finishers

I don’t believe love
Belongs to the lucky ones

Taking Of Time

Filed at 12:23 am under Memories Of A Present Life... 1978 to 1985 by m3studio

Slow and careful
Not to over do
Nice and easy in the turns
Like the fine rolling pace car
Which opens the Indy 500
R in the graceful glide
Of a powerful race horse
As he warms up
Taking of time is passed by
By the confused ones
Let’s not throw it away
Come to me while we pace
To warming together

Another Rainy Day

Water droplets crashing to the ground
Allowing the low spots to be found
With a soft rhythmic sound

Little spots appear on the windows
Bringing some spirits low
Like the hooked minnow

Yet in the silence of night
I find a peaceful beautiful sight
As the puddles reflect the light

Oh, Mr. Rainmaker please be kind
For too much or too little can be a confine
So don’t keep us dry yet don’t drown us this time

Besides who could really try
To understand why angels cry

Death Up A Tree

Filed at 12:04 am under Memories Of A Present Life... 1978 to 1985 by m3studio

Death comes to many
Bringing sorrow to the beloved
Yet what if death was up a tree

Bound to it like Siamese twins
Only to exist within
The limits of the tree
No longer able to stretch out
His new followers

Deathless life
Man living forever
Side by side together
For given enough time
Where would there be room

One Light Out

If you look closely
From the right angle
It is difficult
But you can see it
The unevenness is present
It is ever so slight
Yet still apparent
Like a scale off balance
By a tenth of a gram

Made It

There you stand
Paper in hand
To tell the world
You have done your time
And you’ve made the grade
A passport to adulthood
Now the future is before you
Take hold hard
For the ride maybe
Yet there is always
The bright light
Which is within your reach
And there will be
The shinning brass ring
To circle your happiness
When you are ready
When you know it’s right
Grab with all your might
Think for yourself
Letting nobody at all
Pull at your feet
To bring you down
For that third time
As you swim
Through your ocean of life

Feb’s Smile

Filed at 11:17 pm under Memories Of A Present Life... 1978 to 1985 by m3studio

So many times out of nowhere
Like the mysterious shooting star

FLASH

There she is
Screaming and crying
Breaking eardrums
Or smiling and singing
In her own little world
Although the latest report
Has informed so much
Step after step
With words on the lips
Which shall bring joy
To the repaired ears

Back To You

Filed at 11:13 pm under Memories Of A Present Life... 1978 to 1985 by m3studio

I look back to you
And see your smile
Such as a child
On Christmas morning
Radiating joy
To all who turn your way

I look back to you
And I journey into
Your deep brown eyes
In wonder of how
Within them
I do appear

I look back to you
And find that
You light a lamp
To my dark
Cave of a spirit
And am able to warm

I look back to you
When the day escapes
Into the peace of night
And yes my beauty
You have even
Entered me during Z-time

Apart

A once in awhile photo
Each ever changing
Never a repeat
Simply a piece of paper
With chemicals mixed
Transforming to image
Of the one I long to hold
Though she’s many miles away
And different from the memories
As my head and heart
Journey back to the last
Dear time together we shared
I must laugh to myself
For she doesn’t even know
Who I am
Nor my love
