Bitter Harvest

Some rejoice with the hope

Found under the melted snow

Wakening from the frozen nap Yet as I tend my garden

I long for the cooler days When growth is at it’s height

The best the year has ever offered

This time the wheel has brought

Only specks of what once excited The joy of fulfilled year closing

An Earthly toned rainbow Fleeting as is brilliant

Nurture verse nature

A common battle Endless  Pointless  Fault or blame

Are just the same

Only corredtion

Will eat away at

The rusted lock To the garden

Drought

Strangled roots

Killing heat  Dying brown lifeless

The reaping is not just the sowed

But the tended as well I fear a long cold winter
